20世纪初，纽约人在百老汇大街两旁建起戏院，丰富多彩的舞台演出很快就成为这座迅速成型的大都会吸引人的亮点。
如今，“百老汇”演出已经成为主要舞台表演的代名词，不再是纽约的几个街区，西区也不再是伦敦地图上的一个小方块，它们不再局限在百老汇大街上，而是巡回世界。
《歌院魅影》记忆中无可超越的经典神作
音乐剧“四大名剧”之首，改编自法国作家加斯顿勒鲁同名小说，韦伯作曲。1988年1月26日《歌院魅影》在百老汇剧院首演。其最大特色是以绚丽耀眼的布景装置、近乎无对白而以歌曲贯穿全场的创作风格、动辄三四十人的合唱队和乐团，制作出听觉和视觉效果无比强烈的歌剧音乐剧氛围。
原来的音乐剧就有大量经典音乐，这绝对保证了电影中感情色彩表达的震撼力，也是电影的主要灵魂所在。在这部电影中，舒缓、紧迫、狂躁、激情的音乐不断交替，而且几首旋律如the phantom of the opera（歌剧魅影）贯穿始终，同样的旋律巧妙表达了不同的感情，也奠定了作品的情感基调。
歌唱中充满了痛苦和幻想，表现了主人公克里斯汀悲伤、痛苦的矛盾心理。她想摆脱魅影对她的控制与纠缠，面对魅影的变态的凶残，又感到了无助与害怕。
在孤独和迷茫时，她来到父亲的墓碑前，缓缓深情地唱起这曲《祈盼你此刻重现》，在音乐中将心里的哀伤与痛苦娓娓道来，幻想着逝去的父亲能够重新回到她身边，给她指引与力量。
《猫》回忆
1981年5月11日《猫》正式在伦敦登场上演，并成为迄今为止演出时间最长的音乐剧，谁也不会料到一部不以剧情取胜的音乐剧竟然能这样感人。
自《猫》诞生以来，《回忆》这首歌就开始传播四海，那如泣如诉的旋律，一下就能抓住人们的心。《回忆》这首歌是由剧中的主角魅力猫“格里泽贝拉”演唱的，这是一只年轻时魅力十足而年老后邋遢肮脏的猫，她孤独衰弱，遭人唾弃，流浪在最下等的街区，受到猫族的排挤。她也渴望能升入天堂，但这对她显然是一种奢望。在这个情景下，她演唱了这首《回忆》。在她唱完之后，猫儿们都被感动了，一致推选她升上天堂，全剧落下帷幕。从中我们就可以看出，这首歌在剧中所占的份量，它是全剧的转折点，也是高潮点，因为所有的猫对“格里泽贝拉”的看法都将在这首歌后发生改变。
《狮子王》 今夜感受我的爱
《狮子王》由迪士尼出品，被称作百老汇音乐剧王者之作，是全球最受欢迎的音乐剧之一，累计票房已超过了史上任何一部电影或舞台演出作品。
《今夜感受我的爱》是《狮子王》中最优美、最浪漫、最富有诗情画意的情歌，曾获得“奥斯卡金像奖最佳电影歌曲”的奖项。是《狮子王》原声电影歌曲专辑。1997年首演的音乐剧《狮子王》有“音乐剧之王”之称。
音乐剧中，演员化身为草原中的动物角色，而舞台也成了广袤无垠的非洲大草原。观众随之融入一个扣人心弦的小狮子历险记之中，这头小狮子必须找到勇气战胜自己，迈过艰难和不幸，从而荣登狮王之位。

国家一级指挥,中国广播电影乐团常任指挥。范焘指挥技术娴熟，充满激情富有张力，是一位才华横溢的杰出指挥家。2000年，他在芬兰荣获了西贝柳斯国际指挥大赛评委会特别奖，并授予西贝柳斯家族基金，随后师从世界级指挥大师埃萨-佩卡.萨洛宁Esa-Pekka Salonen。在芬兰夏季音乐节上，范焘再展指挥技艺，芬兰国家电视台实况转播此次音乐会，他受到了热爱音乐的芬兰人民的喜爱。
2001-2003间年范焘获全额奖学金赴美国佛罗里达大学深造，师从著名指挥家，教育家Phillip Spurgeon 先生。在这期间，他执棒美国佛罗里达交响乐团在纽约卡内基音乐厅成功的举办了音乐会；他还受邀在第十一届佛罗里达现代音乐节中指挥了美国当代著名作曲家的一系列极具特色的现代作品，其中包括一些世界首演的曲目。他对现代作品细腻独到的诠释得到了作曲家们的高度赞赏。此外，他曾执棒中国著名作曲家关峽的歌剧《悲怆的黎明》，歌剧《茶花女》、《费加罗的婚礼》及中央芭蕾舞团芭蕾舞剧《红色娘子军》等。
范焘先生同国内外众多著名的交响乐团都有成功的合作，足迹遍布亚洲，美洲和欧洲及大洋洲，活跃在世界的指挥舞台上。他出色的指挥过芬兰国家广播乐团，赫尔辛基爱乐乐团，芬兰AVANTI室内乐团，哥伦比亚国家爱乐乐团，土耳其安塔里亚交响乐团,德国法兰克福国立交响乐团,捷克雅纳切克爱乐乐团，塔比利斯交响乐团，克罗地亚广播交响乐团，布宜诺斯艾利斯爱乐乐团，美国奥柏林交响乐团，南亚利桑那交响乐团，美国约翰.霍普金斯交响乐团，澳大利亚威勒碧交响乐团，巴西圣保罗交响乐团，乌克兰国家交响乐团等众多国外乐团；在国内，他曾与中央歌剧院，中央芭蕾舞团，上海交响乐团，上海爱乐乐团,上海歌剧院等众多乐团都有愉快的合作。
范焘还录制了大量的CD唱片，包括与中国爱乐乐团录制的《音乐之门》，中国广播民乐团录制的《四大名著》、《黄河》、《梁祝》。2007他获得亚洲十大发烧唱片榜年度最佳唱片和最佳指挥奖，2008年获得了亚洲十大发烧唱片最佳策划奖的殊荣。
Fan Tao is national first-grade conductor、music director of Beijing Union Symphony Orchestra、national first-class conductor,and permanent conductor of China Radio Film Orchestra. After graduating from the Department of Composition and Conducting of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, he went to the University of Florida in the United States with a full scholarship. He studied under the famous Chinese conductor Professor Huang Xiaotong, master conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen, and famous American conductor educator Mr. Phillip Spurgeon, and finally formed a delicate, passionate and intense conducting style. And became an internationally renowned conductor.
In 2000, Fan Tao won the special Award from the jury of the Sibelius International Conducting Competition and was awarded the Sibelius Family Foundation. This was the first time that Chinese people won the prize in this competition. The principal of the Royal Concert Hall in Amsterdam and the Principal of Helsinki Symphony praised him as "an excellent professional conductor with strong ability to control the orchestra". In the annual Finnish Summer Music Festival, Fanntao once again demonstrated his conducting skills. The concerts were broadcast live on Finnish national television, and he was once again favored by the music-loving Finnish people.
In 2003, he was invited to conduct a series of modern works by famous American contemporary composers at the 11th Florida Modern Music Festival, some of which were world premieres. His exquisite interpretation of modern works was highly appreciated by the present composers. In September of that year, he led the Florida Modern Chamber Orchestra in a successful concert of modern works at Carnegie Hall in New York; In 2006, the ASEAN International Organization invited Pham Tao to perform a symphony concert composed of musicians from 11 ASEAN countries in front of Angkor Wat, a world historic site. The following year, Tao was invited to the United States as a judge of the final of the 13th Oberlin International Piano Competition. In 2011, she was the judge of the final of Coopo International Violin Competition in Cleveland, USA. From 2014 to 2020, he served as guest conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine.
Not only that, as an active conductor in the international music world, he traveled to Asia, Europe, America and Oceania, and had pleasant cooperation with many domestic and foreign orchestras. They include the Central Opera House, the Central Ballet, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Opera House, Finland National Radio Orchestra, Finland AVANTI Chamber Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Germany Frankfurt State Philharmonic Orchestra, Colombia National Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra, Tabilis Symphony Orchestra, Austria Danube Orchestra and Croatia Rhodia National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Lviv State Philharmonic Orchestra, Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra, Oberlin Symphony Orchestra, Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra, John F. Hopkins Symphony Orchestra, Turkey's Antalia Symphony Orchestra, Australia's Sydney Willerby Symphony Orchestra, Moldova's National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Brazil's Sao Paulo Orchestra, etc. In addition, he has performed in the Muskhall in Vienna, the Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall in New York, Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Bolshoi Theatre in Cologne, the National Center for the Performing Arts and other internationally renowned theaters. His rich conducting experience enables him to have an international vision and excellent technical level.
He also recorded many CDS during his career, including "The Door of Music", which he recorded with the China Philharmonic Orchestra. "The Four Great Classics", "Yellow River" and "Butterfly Lovers" recorded by China Radio Folk Orchestra; China Radio Film Symphony Orchestra recorded a series of classic records, demanding standards and delicate emotions for him to win the 2007 Asian Top 10 Fever Record List, the Best Record of the Year award and the best conductor of the Year award, and in 2008 won the Asian Top 10 Fever Record List, the best planner of the year award honor.
